tuesday was worse than monday

blah. today was a hard day to get through. work just keeps getting harder and harder to stand.
either way, i was VERY MUCH going to paint tonight but traffic and grocery shopping kept me away from home till 8, and i just now got to uploading the daily poster, so it’s unlikely i’ll get my ass off this chair to paint before i go into curl-up-on-the-couch mode. but it could happen! let’s have hope. mmm this wine is good.

ok, let’s peep the poster. i really like it laying on my floor, but i hated it once i took a picture of it and uploaded it. i don’t know why. i keep turning to look at it and i really like it, then i see it on screen and i hate it. oh well. it was fun playing with water colors anyway. yep, still looks cool on my floor.

sort of in a weird lovey-dovey but sad mood tonight. probably because i knew once in my car that my evening’s plans were dashed. and then the lovey-dovey music on the way home didn’t help. good thing it was dark so no one could see me singing along passionately.

so my hits went from 450 two days in a row to 60 and then 30 today. weird.
goodnight.

i haven’t laughed this hard all year

tony sat in my orange chair and there was a loud pop. i look up to see his feet going in an arc in the air as he rolled off onto the floor. my chair is broken, but it gave me a last present of enjoyment by making me laugh till i cried. and then remembering it and laughing again. tony’s isn’t happy about being laughed at but i really don’t care. i’m going to remember this forever.

never mind

ok, i didn’t paint. i was reading for a while and then i passed out till 430, woke up, showered and my eye was swollen. then i had other house-hold things to do. i know..i’m a disappointment. but tomorrow for sure..i’m pretty bummed i didn’t get to tonight though. oh well. time to cook.

so excited!

tony works all day so we won’t be hanging out. BUT i have a book to read, a story to finish, and painting to do! i’ll update later.

by the way, i’m extremely anxious over these fires. not only is the air quality in long beach poisonous right now but just the reality that southern california is burning away night and day and people have no where to go is an upsetting one. i wish they’d find some sort of relief…the families being upset by the fires and firefighters who seem almost powerless against it. Let’s all hope the fires stop before the big earthquake hits.

unstoppable

painted tonight. this thing has been in the works since september/august. i’ve been a bit busy lately so i’ve put it off. but tonight i got a lot of the tail done. tomorrow i plan to finish the tail and move on to the background.

crazy nuts

artwork_images_424386373_440976_-liubolin.jpg

crazy nuts. it’s so nuts it’s evolved from normal nuts to crazy nuts. maybe even insane. tony just showed me Liu Bolin’s artwork and i am completely stunned. takes street art to a whole new five levels. quite inspirational. would love to see this guy have an installation in an art show. could you imagine walking by painted people in a gallery? props.

edit: i was so excited i didn’t even explain his work. he paints on people to camouflage them into their surroundings. so this man isn’t invisible, he’s painted like the guy behind him. just check out his other work, you’ll get it.

friday finally!

“friday finally” has been my theme all day today. that and “fucking friday”. but we’ll keep it polite tonight.

saw this artist today on Design You Trust and was SO inspired by her I had to post it in my blog. These are the kinds of relationships i absolutely adore and feel that many of my upcoming projects will reflect.(there’s a list of at least 30 projects in the making). The mixing of nature with human spirit with death but with undertones of life. anyway, feast your eyes on Zoe Lacchei’s work. just gorgeous.

and here is my creation for the night. hold it up in front of you and have BOOBIES! also part of a future idea i have for a painting. and I’ll be painting this whole weekend so maybe i can show you that later. i’m off to my favorite silly restaurant for martinis, chit chat, deep heart to hearts, and mexican food. goodnight!

Thursday night wine adventures

dscn2728.jpg

I love wine. tony loves wine bars. he has an enology degree, bet you didn’t know that. anyway, he was feeling wine bar tonight, but i reminded him that Casa Vino is going out of business, so they’re not really open late and by the time we actually got there, it’d be late. so i decided to bring the wine bar to my house. we got paninis, garlic french bread, oil/vinegar, a big fat bottle of wine and two movies. it’ll be a nice night. a good thursday night to get me through the unbearable friday tomorrow.

by the way, i haven’t painted in way too long. i must do that this weekend. MUST MUST.

also, did you participate in the great california shake out today? i’m upset no one took it as serious as it is. but i guess we’ve all been doing these drills since kindergarten. anyway, good night! provecho!

Let’s band together

so, i had 145 visits to my site two days ago. yesterday i had 60 now i have 41. what the hell guys? let’s band together, promote some Lo, and we’ll be all good.

anyway, i have a new poster, but you’ll have to go to lorenaguerra.com to see it. it’s about what i learned today in my creative meeting. if you’re any sort of artist, you’ll know how painful it is hear “POP” and how painful it is to hear it in the same sentence as “clean” and “simple”. well..i always dreaded it but now i work in that situation. and let me tell you, it’s hard to stay on the trends. i’ve been between tacky and classy and tacky and classy way too many times. my brain pretty much says “ok” now. no more ranting.

meant to watch law and order tonight but i got so caught up blog-reading and debating with tony. he thinks we should have our own youtube news show, i think he has way too many ideas for so little time.

goodnight!

here we are again

so, i bet you’re wondering why poster #6 was of a bruised toe. that’s because over the weekend i really messed up my toe by stubbing it. until today it has been in pain, but now i can walk normally and dance and even do a little jog. so i’m happy.

tonight’s poster has been actually taken a bit more seriously than the others…as far as time spent on it. not that this took a while..it took more…thought i guess…where to place colors and all that.
well, enjoy.

p.s. tony went to bartending school and i still pour a grade A martini while his are…”OK”
